Community Engagement Assistant

Location: Remote
Salary: £26K per annum
Contract: Full-time, temporary Fixed Term for 12 months. (37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am-5pm)

Role Summary
The Community Engagement Assistant plays a crucial role in our Face-to-face peer support groups Department at PANDAS Foundation UK. You will be the operational backbone of our volunteer experience, ensuring that every volunteer group facilitator across the country is smoothly onboarded, well-informed, and consistently supported via digital systems and communication tools. This role is ideal for someone who is highly motivated, fast paced, organised, and thrives when trusted to work independently. You’ll need to be curious, proactive, and excited to solve problems before they reach your inbox.
This role is perfect for someone with strong admin, IT, and organisational skills who is passionate about making emotional support more accessible for parents.
Key Responsibilities
Group Facilitator Volunteer Onboarding & Compliance
- Manage end-to-end onboarding processes including DBS checks, e-learning, and group launch signoffs
- Maintain up-to-date volunteer records and ensure all documentation is compliant with safeguarding and PANDAS requirements
Digital Infrastructure & IT Systems
- Assist in the management of the SharePoint-based Volunteer Villa
- Maintain and update volunteer-facing documents, guides, and templates
- Support the setup and rollout of system frameworks
Volunteer Communications & Support
- Act as a point of contact for new and existing Group Facilitator volunteers on administrative queries
- Coordinate Group Facilitator updates, email communications, and key dates using workflows and scheduling tools
Operational Process Improvement
- Work closely with the Community Engagement Manager and Director of Services to streamline systems and improve the volunteer experience
- Assist with the design and delivery of short tutorial videos and onboarding resources for volunteers
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in admin, volunteer coordination, or operations (ideally within a charity or community-focused setting)
- Confident using IT such as SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and CRM platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workflows
- Passionate about mental health, community support, or perinatal care (lived experience is a bonus but not required)
