Folkestone and Hawkinge

The group will run on the third Tuesday of each month, 7pm – 8:30pm

Group facilitator: Abi

What inspired you to start your group? I wanted to start a Pandas support group because I really care about talking honestly with parents about mental health after having a baby. The postpartum period can be such a vulnerable time, especially for mothers, and from my own experience I know how important support and a sense of community can be. When I was navigating my own birth trauma, having people who understood made a huge difference, and thats felt even more important since returning to work. I wanted to create a space where parents feel less alone, can talk openly and know they are supported.

What does the building look like? How will I know I’m in the right place? The buillding stands on it’s own and has a large glass front plus it’s own car park. There is a reception area with staff who can direct you to the meeting room.

Is there parking or public transport nearby? Yes it has it’s own large car park.

Any doors, buzzers, or steps/ramps I should know about? You enter through double glass doors to enter the building and the reception is directly in front. The meeting room is left to the reception desk through the passageway.

I feel a bit nervous and am still not sure if this is for me – This is a well used space for parents and carers, and it’s generally a very easy, welcoming place to be. If walking into somewhere new feels a bit much, there will always be someone at reception so please ask them to guide you to the meeting room if you are unsure. The group facilitator will be wearing a PANDAS t shirt, so do just come over and say hello when you arrive.
