Ockenden Report 2022 Statement

PANDAS Foundation are deeply saddened to hear the findings from the Ockenden report, which sadly highlight a harrowing and traumatic picture of repeated failures in care over the past 20 years. We know that this will have led to deep trauma, distress and sadness for many people, and our thoughts are with every person who has been affected.

At this deeply upsetting time, we want to assure parents, carers and their networks that help is available to them. Our free services are there to provide support, empathy and hope if you are struggling. Our trained volunteers are on hand to provide support. The phone line is open between 11am – 10pm on 0808 1961 776. We also have an email support (info@pandasfoundation.org.uk) and text support service (text PANDAS to 85258), plus online and face to face groups. Information about all these services can be found here.

If you have been affected by the pain and trauma of baby loss, there are some fantastic support networks out there, including

The Lullaby Trust
SANDS
Tommy’s Baby Loss Support

PANDAS would also like to offer our support and gratitude to every healthcare professional striving for immediate and ongoing improvement based on these findings to prevent any further tragedies. Thank you.
